Hope Macaulay Brand Illustration

I had the opportunity to work with the iconic knitwear designer Hope Macaulay, known for her eye-popping, vibrant chunky knit designs. Together, we embarked on a project to create four fashion illustrations for her latest collection which was a funky fusion of '70s vibes and '90s cartoon aesthetics.

Inspired by classics like Scooby-Doo and Totally Spies, I set out to infuse that funky, playful energy into my artwork. We focused on three standout pieces: the Cartoon Sweater Vest, the Daphne Cardigan, and the Velma Knit Jacket. I focused on celebrating the diversity of Hope’s customers with my character designs, making them as varied and vibrant as her designs.

I blended bold colours and dynamic patterns to match Hope’s unique style, while sprinkling in a dash of nostalgia. I turned this project into an opportunity to merge my childhood favourites with my love for fashion and therefore found the entire project incredibly fulfilling. I brought Hope Macaulay’s incredible designs to life through these playful illustrations, while also making some short animations that could be used as social assets on her Instagram stories and grid.
